  • Buffalo County Resort is just steps away from the historic Waumandee House (bar and restaurant) and Waumandee Country Store which are more than 100 years old. Roast marshmallows around the campfire or try your luck trout fishing on our stocked, on-site trout stream. Or, try your luck at trophy walleye and bass fishing near the scenic dam in Alma, WI. Some of Wisconsin's and Minnesota's finest attractions are only a few minutes away. The resort is a short distance to fabulous restaurants, trophy fishing/hunting, off road trails, shopping, museums, the beautiful lake Pepin, Laura Ingalls Wilder's home and many other exciting attractions. Enjoy history, bluff-top views, outstanding trails and charming river towns along the Wisconsin Great River Road—Wisconsin’s only designated National Scenic Byway, just minutes away from Waumandee, WI. The Wisconsin Great River Road, only minutes from the resort, is one of the top 10 most scenic roads in the United States, which parallels the Mississippi River for 250 miles from Prescott in the north to Kieler in the south. Along the way, you’ll experience some of the most incredible scenery in the Midwest and 33 unique communities, some of which are the oldest in Wisconsin.

  • Private, Luxury, Modern Cabins with High Speed Internet and Streaming TV Programing, except our outpost cabin #10.  All our cabins include linens,towels, shampoo, soap, coffee and limited housekeeping.  Restaurant and Bar on premises with sensational food provided by the Waumandee Haus.  Each of the 10 cabins are uniquely decorated and together can house groups up to 40 people or more, depending on sleeping arrangements.  We have 6 spacious, private, rustic, modern and comfortable "regular standard" cabins (#1-6) for your enjoyment with 2 queen beds, private bathroom with tub/shower, free wireless internet, coffee maker, air conditioning, 32" flat screen high definition streaming TV,  refrigerator, microwave, porch and other amenities. Ask about our Honeymoon/Jacuzzi suite #8, with a King canopy bed and sofa sleeper with a 50" streaming TV, or try our business suite #7, with 1 queen bed, desk and its own private patio with table and chairs.  We have a larger, 2 room/1 bath cabin #9 that can accommodate up to 8 persons with their own bed with an optional 2nd bathroom, 4 bunk beds (twin over full  size bed), 32" & 50" flat-screen streaming TVs, coffee maker, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, free wireless high speed internet, clock radio and other amenities. We also have a outpost cabin #10 with NO indoor plumbing with a porta-potty next to cabin and access to a private shower room approximately 80 yards away. This cabin has heat and AC along with a gas fireplace, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker (bring bottled water) dining table, 4 single bunk beds, 2 couches and a fire-pit out back.
